Gretsch G5034TFT Rancher Dreadnought Acoustic w/ Bigsby
This big Rancher Dreadnought was made for the stage. We love the bold Gretsch signature triangular sound hole against the beautiful tomato-red Savannah Sunset finish and natural gloss mahogany sides and back. Gold metal parts add to the premium look.
The arched, laminated top and back are designed to handle the big gold Bigsby with CA (Chet Atkins) wire arm. The hum-cancelling Fideli’Tron pickup is iso-chamber mounted to further restrict vibrations and reduce feedback. So you can turn this one up before it bites back. (Note: The design/structure of this guitar give it a unique sound—not your typical acoustic or electric).
The 2-piece mahogany neck plays easily—it comes with light-gauge electric strings—and the rosewood fingerboard features Gretsch’s famous ‘thumbnail’ Neo-classical inlays. A raised, 4-ply shell pickguard completes the ‘here-for-the-party’ look of this big, authoritative dreadnought.
Why We Like It
The Rancher Dreadnought really is a performer’s guitar. There’s nothing shy about it: The color is in your face. The pickup and Bigsby are obviously more electric than acoustic. And the laminated, stiff top and back were clearly intended to restrict vibration and feedback so you can crank it up. It’s not your “sit by the fire and play ‘Kum Ba Ya’” guitar. It’s not warm and fuzzy—or even remotely intimate. It came to play. And we like that.
