Eastman DM2/c Gypsy Jazz - Classic Antique Varnish
Patterned after the “petite-bouche” Selmer Maccaferri guitars used by gypsy guitar legend Django Reinhardt, the Eastman DM2 features a Sitka spruce top with ladder bracing, rosewood laminate back and sides, and a deep cutaway for easy access to upper frets.
The finish is Eastman’s thin, hand-applied antique varnish for a sweet, aged look and sound—and this is truthfully one of the best-sounding modern gypsy jazz guitars we’ve had in the store. It offers the barking, midrange tone you expect, plus more depth than we’ve heard from similar models.
The DM2 features a D-shape maple neck with a flat-radius ebony fretboard and 26.4” scale.
Combined with a traditional long-mustache archtop-style bridge and metal tailpiece, the DM2’s tone is straight out of the Paris cafes of the ’30s-’40s. hardshell case included.
