TSP148NC NS Thinline Classical A/E with Cutaway
This might be the perfect steel-string player’s classical guitar. It features a thin (under 2 1/2”) sapele body, solid cedar top with cutaway, and a 1.85” nut width that allows easy chording and finger-style playing while still accommodating the wider nylon strings. For those of us who shy away from the standard 2” classical fingerboard, this smart Takamine lets non-classicists switch easily and comfortably.
The TSP148NC NS offers pleasing volume when played unplugged, thanks to the arched back (no, you won’t compete with a full-sized dreadnought) while the onboard CT-3N electronics let you plug in and keep up with any band. The cutaway brings higher notes within easy reach. The construction and aesthetic are excellent. It will be hard to find a “gut-string” that brings more modern-player features to the party. Softshell case included.
