Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Amber Fretless Bass
The Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Bass is one of Breedlove’s sustainable tonewood instruments—it features a solid myrtle top and laminated myrtle/mahogany sides and back, all made from either dead or individually harvested trees (no clear-cut woods). The Amber burst finish really brings out the myrtle’s distinctive grain.
The Fishman Presys 1 electronics system produces a great amplified tone, featuring Volume control with Contour and Phase switches and a built-in tuner. The mahogany neck has a 34”-scale ovangkol fretless fingerboard and flat wound stings for easy-playing, authentic acoustic bass tone, plugged or unplugged.
Why We Like It
The Breedlove Pursuit fretless is fun to play. It sounds good with or without an amp. And it's a heck of a lot easier to play than an upright, but still gives you some of the same acoustic thump. It is imported, but designed and inspected by Breedlove at their Oregon plant. For the price, you really can't beat 'em.
