Danelectro ‘59 Stock - Red
This is the famous Danelectro guitar that Jimmy Page used with Led Zeppelin. But this one is better—much better.
These new-generation Dano’s have the same look and sound as the originals. They feature the same lightweight, semi-hollowbody construction, with plywood frames, and Masonite tops and backs, and one-piece wood bridge. However, build quality is far superior to the older versions and the easy-playing necks are comfortable and solid, making these new models much more dependable than their predecessors.
The Dano ’59 Stock features the improved NOS+ Lipstick-tube alnico pickups, famous for Danelectro’s distinctive ‘quacky’ tone. They retain the quality of the original pickups in a quieter, punchier form.
Other features include a “seal”-style single-ply pickguard and master volume and tone knobs with 3-position pickup selector switch.
It might not replace your main axe, but the Dano '59 Stock definitely has sounds worth adding to your arsenal, at a price you can afford. Very cool.

Why We Like It
Danelectro guitars and basses have been around since the '50s, and the list of Dano players has included Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and many other greats. Lightweight construction, "lipstick" pickups and distinctive quack set them apart. Made overseas and finished in California, this newest generation of very affordable Danelectros are as quality as they are quirky. We love 'em.
