Fender's American Vintage series basses are a throwback, of sorts. Fender took several classic models—even specific years—and carefully replicated every feature, including the nitro finishes and all body measurements. They’re essentially custom shop basses made in Fender’s American factory, with features including:
- 50s-70s-era specs
- Thin, nitrocellulose lacquer finishes
- Period-correct neck shapes, finishes, pickups, pickguards and hardware
We really like the 'played-in' feel of these basses. Yes, they're brand new, but they could as easily have been tucked into a case for 50 years, waiting to be pulled out today. And every one is made here in the U.S.
Additional features of this American Vintage Series '58 Precision Bass include:
- Alder body with 3-color sunburst nitrocellulose finish
- Slightly wider maple "C"-shape neck
- Rosewood fingerboard
- 4-ply shell pickguard
- Finger rest
- Flat-top knurled chrome controls and tuners
- Vintage bridge w/ threaded saddles
- Chrome pickup and bridge covers
- Series finish choices include 3-color Sunburst, Olympic White or Lake Placid Blue )w/ matching headstock) and Black
