G. Gould GGi4 Deep Space Station - Vintage Clear Cherry
Geoff Gould already makes some of our favorite basses, but he’s always up for a challenge. The Deep Space Station GGi4 features a pair of Curtis Novak BS-DS (BiSonic/Dark Star) pickups, based on the original Hagstrom BiSonic pickups from the ’60s, also used (to great effect) in old Guild Starfire basses. The tone goes from edgy to thick and massive with a hint of acoustic resonance.
The pickups are passive (a rarity on G. Gould basses), but push-pull coil tap feature on the two Volume controls let you choose the brighter Dark Star coil or full BiSonic power.
Other features include a Swamp Ash body with vintage clear cherry finish; G. Gould’s signature full-molded graphite/epoxy neck* and phenolic fingerboard for rock-solid stability and ultra clear tone; ABM aluminum bridge and Gotoh Res-o-lite tuners.
This is our third BiSonic/DarkStar G.Gould bass, and they go quickly. Gator deluxe soft case included.
