Miktek MK300 Large Diaphragm FET Condenser Microphone
Full Disclosure: We’re unabashed Miktek fans. They’re based here in Nashville, they’re friends and they make great products at outstanding prices. The MK300 is a 3-pattern FET condenser, designed to achieve clear highs, open midrange, and round lows. It’s built offshore for even greater savings—but trust us, it sounds expensive.
The MK300 features a great capsule, superior electronics, and a sweet output transformer. The mic features 3 switchable polar patterns (cardioid, bidirectional, and omnidirectional), and employs a high-pass filter at 100Hz and -10dB pad for recording loud sound sources
The MK300 really excels on vocal applications, but produces amazing results when recording acoustic instruments, guitar amps, or as overheads on a drum kit. The frequency response boasts a full bottom end and a crystal clear top end, yet at the same time, the midrange is airy and open.
The MK300’s custom capsule was developed by Miktek engineers, featuring dual 1” diaphragms made using 5-micron Mylar with a 0.4-micron layer of evaporated gold. The diaphragm is precisely tensioned and mounted to a carefully tuned backplate to create the finished capsule.
The MK300 features a custom Miktek transformer and hand-selected transistors for vintage mic response and Miktek’s signature sound—all in an affordable package. Includes swivel mount, vinyl case, shock-mount and manual.
