SB-2 Stagebug Passive Direct Box $69.99

The Radial StageBug SB-2 passive DI is a compact, passive DI designed to accommodate electric bass, keyboards and active acoustic pickups. Made to fit inside a guitar case, the SB-2 is perfect for travelling players.

The 1/4" input has a thru-put to feed an on-stage amp. The custom-made Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer matches impedance and balances the signal. A -15dB pad can be inserted into the signal path for use with active basses and digital pianos that often tend to overload the input side of the interface.

The SB-2 delivers a smooth, warm sound reminiscent of older vintage gear. The transformer handles extreme signal levels with a natural compression and also helps eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops.

An innovative stereo-to-mono merge function provides a convenient way to connect stereo keyboards and computers without having to reset the source for mono operation. The SB-2 output features an XLR wired to the AES standard with pin-2 hot.

Features:

  • Passive DI for bass, acoustic and keyboard
  • Ultra compact to fit in your guitar case
  • Transformer isolation eliminates noise from ground loops
  • Ground lift switch for quiet, professional performance
  • Merge function for stereo-to-mono connection
  • Plug-and-play, easy to use feature set

Why we like it:

The passive version of the SB-1, the Radial SB-2 works better for handling stronger signals—active or pre-amped pickups, or digi-keyboards. The Radial Stagebug series are compact, quiet and warm sounding. They offer Radial quality at a great price.

Plus, if it says Radial, we know it’s well engineered and built to last. There’s less-expensive gear out there, but none better. Radial gear performs gig after gig, session after session, and you can expect years of service—which means our customers love them and we don’t see them coming back for repairs. We always like that.
