Larry Garris Owner, Corner Music and Corner Audio & Video

  • Opened Corner Music in 1976
  • A former Aria guitar rep, Larry now sells countless brands from over 200 vendors
  • Holds a degree in Zoology from Wingate University, with additional studies in Wildlife Biology at North Carolina State University

Memorable music moment:

“Sitting down for an hour with Leo Fender and chatting at the 1988 NAMM show was certainly a high point.”


Dan Mills - Floor Manager (Adult Supervision) 

  • 25 years in vintage guitar business, 9 as manager of Gruhn Guitars 
  • 5 years with Gibson Guitars Bluegrass and Custom Shop
  • Studied mandolin and guitar with Jethro Burns (of country icons Homer and Jethro)

Stefan Superti - Guitar Sales/Tech Support 

  • BA in Liberal Arts from Bard College. Majored in Jazz Guitar Performance, Arranging, and Composition
  • Learned the basics of audio engineering while interning at Clubhouse recording studio in upstate New York
  • Professional guitarist, plays Jazz, Funk, Americana, Rock
  • Ardent tinkerer and general factotum

Nolan Lucas - Acoustic Instrument Specialist

  • Degrees in Vocal Performance, Sociology and Commercial Music Business

Ronnie Brooks - Online Content Coordinator  

  • Created and produced music for national commercials (Budweiser, Chevy, Coke) 
  • Songs recorded by Kid Rock, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Bob Welch (Fleetwood Mac)
  • TV themes and cues include “Oprah,” “Baseball Tonight,” several CMT specials
  • Contributes entertainment/guitar-related articles to several online and print magazines

“Hearing myself on Super Bowl commercials was always pretty exciting (one year I was involved in three different Super Bowl ads). But playing bass with Chuck Berry, producing Dolly Parton—and seeing the Beatles live—those may be hard to top.”

Jeff Marple Guitar Repairs

  • Over 20 years in guitar repair and set-up
  • Past clients include: U2, John Frusciante, Dimebag Darryl, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., Alison Krauss, Steve Winwood
  • Intensely camera-shy

“I was repairing a guitar for Mac Davis, when he did a little one-man concert right there, playing “In The Ghetto.” I’ve worked on a lot of famous people’s guitars, but I got all geeky on that one—knowing who’d recorded that song and what it meant.”
