Kramer 650-B Artist Bass  -  Birdseye Maple/Walnut

The former owner of this bass is a longtime customer of our store and astute collector. This bass is in excellent condition for a bass this age and has been professionally maintained (to us, it's near mint—but to avoid any argument, we're calling it excellent).

This late-‘70s Kramer 650-B Artist bass is a beauty, conspicuous for a few reasons. Most notably, it features a T-style aluminum-neck with wood inserts (to give it a more organic feel than an all-aluminum neck) and split headstock. For even greater structural integrity the neck is topped with an ebanol fingerboard (manmade material). Pearl crown inlays set it off beautifully.

The body is equally striking, with a solid birdseye maple center and solid, burled walnut wings with German-carved top and belly-contoured back. A maple/walnut/maple trim stripe around the rim gives it even more class.

Dual pickups feature an embossed Kramer logo and walnut bezels. Controls are standard 2 x Volume, 2 x Tone and a 3-way switch. The bridge is a top-mount with adjustable barrels. All pots and parts indicate a 1977-78 birthday.

It’s not delicate, weighing in at 11.2 lbs. But it delivers plenty of low end—and it’s certainly a stable bass—that neck isn’t going anywhere! Original hardshell case is included, in decent condition.
