Danelectro Baby Sitar 2024 - Red Crackle
Danelectro Baby Sitar 2024 - Red Crackle
The Danelectro Baby Sitar is the easiest way to get that famous ‘transcendental’ sound of the psychedelic ‘60s. Descended from the original Coral Electric Sitar, the new Dano Baby Sitar takes a simple approach with six strings* and standard guitar tuning.
A Gotoh sitar bridge creates the familiar buzz; a single Danelectro lipstick pickup gives it just the right timbre for very believable sitar tone.
The semi-hollowbody plywood/masonite construction is amazingly lightweight. The neck and action are set up for comfortable playing, the 25” scale stays in tune; and a stop tailpiece makes restringing easy.
*Early Coral models included a row of 13 sympathetic strings; the Baby Sitar does not.

Why We Like It
Vintage electric sitars aren’t cheap, especially since they get used so sparingly. The Baby Sitar gives you the sitar sound without setting you back a bunch of rupees. Straightforward, standard tuning, single pickup—this Baby couldn’t be any easier.
