If you're not familiar with G. Gould instruments, Geoff Gould is known as "the Godfather of Graphite." As founder and president of Modulus Graphite, Geoff introduced the world to carbon fiber composite-neck basses (among other innovations). Now he's crafting spectacular instruments with his eponymous G.Gould Music brand.
This model is the GGT6. It's a spectacular T-Style guitar constructed of book matched swamp ash/basswood body finished in the always eye-catching rainbow trout burst finish. Geoff has mentioned this instrument as being a pre-production prototype. This guitar is one of a few Geoff has had professional musicians demo for constructive feedback for the launch of this model. This is your chance to own one of the firsts of its kind. Geoff has also mentioned he hopes the next owner of this will keep in touch with him for development feedback—how cool?!
The pickups are EMG RetroActive HSS with Strat Presence Control (SPC). The SPC allows you to boost the midrange of the single-coils to give you a humbucker like sound or to increase your overall volume and midrange of the humbucker pickup. This allows for tremendous versatility and many tonal options. This is accomplished by boosting the gain in a broad mid-band fashion and reducing the high-end. The result is a fatter, louder tone from any normal single-coil pickup and a more "swampy" fat-tone in your humbucker—which is great for more slide guitar playing.
