The G&L ASAT Special often flies under the radar, but this guitar is a hidden gem with a unique vibe all its own. While it might be overshadowed by the more traditional ASAT Classic, the ASAT Special delivers a treasure trove of classic single-coil tones, with the fidelity and output that modern players demand. This used model is in very good condition, offering you a chance to own a USA-made guitar with custom shop looks and feel without breaking the bank.
The magic of the ASAT Special lies in its G&L large MFD (Magnetic Field Design) pickups,which were developed by Leo Fender himself. These pickups bring a mix of power, clarity, and tone that’s hard to match. The neck pickup is clean and articulate, with a glassy quality that shines on the upper frets, offering tones that range from Strat-like shimmer to a rounder, warmer vibe. The bridge pickup has plenty of jangle and twang, perfect for crisp rhythm playing or adding a sparkly crunch with a bit of overdrive. Together, these pickups offer a tonal versatility that’s hard to beat, making the ASAT Special a true workhorse.
Built with G&L’s exceptional craftsmanship,this ASAT Special features an ash body which looks killer with the wood grain coming through the trans blonde finish. The guitar is also comfortable to play, with a clear satin tint "C" neck profile and rosewood fingerboard that feels just right in your hands.
There are a few marks on the guitar from previous use and play. Including a small ding on the headstock and a few smaller markings on the body and a small crack in the neck pocket. Nothing that impacts the performance or playability of the instrument. This guitar is set up and ready for your next gig or session. Case and pearloid pickguard included.
