Gold Tone Béla Fleck “Bluegrass Heart” Signature Banjo 2022 - Mahogany Satin
Gold Tone Béla Fleck “Bluegrass Heart” Signature Banjo 2022 - Mahogany Satin
If you know the banjo, you know Béla Fleck. The Gold Tone Béla Fleck “Bluegrass Heart” Signature model is inspired by Béla’s iconic “Number 1” banjo, which has been meticulously modified over the years to achieve the warm, dark tone synonymous with his style.
The tone pot is based on a 1937 Mastertone flat-head. The neck is slightly wider, thicker, and radiused, mirroring the specifications of the neck crafted by John Montelone for Béla’s personal instrument. The Rickard Cyclone tuners feature heavy bell-brass buttons, contributing to a richer sound. Coupled with an arched, compensated maple bridge, a coated black head, and a Prucha Presto tailpiece, every aspect of this banjo is engineered to replicate Béla’s distinctive tone. (Okay, the custom inlays might not affect the sound, but the modified hearts-and-flowers pattern looks stunning.)
There’s only one Béla Fleck and only one “Number 1,” but the Gold Tone “Bluegrass Heart” may bring you closer to the look, feel, and warm sound of the pre-war masterpiece that defines Béla’s sound.
