Husting Brothers HB061 Fretless Bass Natural Black Limba/Mahogany
Husting Brothers HB061 Fretless Bass Natural Black Limba/Mahogany
Husting Brothers have been making some exquisite instruments since 2010. Based out of Wisconsin, all of their instruments are made from top notch tonewoods and top-of-the-line hardware and electronics. This active bass is previously loved and shows minor signs of use or play wear—only damage we could note would be some wear on the bridge.
This fretless bass is what they call their "bass style 1"—which is essentially a stretched out tele shape. The body is made of hollow mahogany with a black Limba top and this bass weighs a comfortable 6.8 lbs. The tortoise binding adds a level of class to the overall look while the Warmoth flamed maple neck features a fretless ebony fingerboard and a graphite nut. The hipshot ultra light tuners and Babicz full contact bridge provide ample tuning stability (but it's fretless, so the rest of the tuning is up to you).
The active electronics include Bartolini P/J pickups and preamp. You can easily blend in your desired tone with the control knobs, which include: Volume with push/pull active/passive function, Pickup blend (center detent), and stacked bass/treble controls (center detent). If you're looking for a bass that sounds and plays great—but is completely unique (you're not showing up to any gig with anyone else rocking this)—then this is the bass for you. A gig bag is included.
