Probably one of our favorite overdrives on the market right now. The Benson Preamp does everything from a nice transparent overdrive to a nice and gritty punchy drive/fuzz. Super versatile and stacks really well with other drive pedals. This is a great option if you're looking for your first overdrive pedal or if you're looking to add some new color to your existing rig. There's a reason so many pros have the Benson Preamp on their boards and we can't recommend these enough!
The circuit is based on their Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes. The result is an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to your signal chain…truly a Chimera in a box!
