If you're somebody who appreciates smaller bodied acoustics, this Bourgeois 00-14 Hog Top Downeast Series is a really easy guitar to connect with.
This Downeast Series is a collaboration between Bourgeois and Eastman, combining Dana Bourgeois' design philosophy and voicing techniques with Eastman's excellent craftsmanship. The result is a guitar that carries a lot of that boutique Bourgeois DNA at a much more approachable price point.
There's something refreshing about how straightforward it is. No exotic wood combinations or over-the-top appointments. Just an all-mahogany 00 that's warm, woody, responsive, and incredibly comfortable to play.
We're also big fans of the size. It's lightweight at just 3lbs 14oz, super comfortable to sit with, and just has that "pick it up and keep playing" quality that a lot of great small-bodied guitars seem to have. The details are classy without being too flashy. Ziricote on the headstock, subtle ivoroid trim, ebony appointments, and just enough vintage inspiration to make it feel timeless.
