This semi-hollow electric guitar, with its classic Shorthorn double-cut body and iconic Lipstick pickups, captures the unmistakable sound of late-'50s rock 'n' roll. The Fifty Niner DC is lightweight and comfortable, with a hardboard/spruce body that delivers a unique blend of warmth and punch, falling somewhere between a solidbody and a traditional semi-hollow. The center block in the body helps cut down on feedback, making it easy to pair with your favorite pedals and effects.
The Fifty Niner’s Lipstick pickups are all about tone. The bridge pickup delivers crisp jangle with a punchy midrange, while the neck pickup adds depth with a rich, full-bodied sound. When both pickups are engaged, the series wiring gives you a thicker, more powerful tone with a strong bass and midrange response. These pickups stay true to the original Danelectro design, right down to the Alnico VI magnets and the unique coil and tape wrapping.
