Eastman MDO605 A-Style Octave Mandolin 2024 - Goldburst
Eastman MDO605 A-Style Octave Mandolin 2024 - Goldburst
The Eastman MDO605 octave mandolin offers classic “A” style design and construction, with a handcarved solid spruce top, carved solid maple back and sides for traditional looks with ultimate projection and tonal definition. The lower octave tuning (GDAE), mellow tone, and larger scale make this an easy instrument to listen to and play—great for players with larger hands and fingers.
The Goldburst finish is Eastman’s thin, TrueTone lacquer with ivoroid binding on the top and back. A 3-piece maple/mahogany/maple neck with a 12" ebony fingerboard and adjustable ebony bridge add distinctive appearance and playing ease.
We’re consistently impressed with Eastman’s attention to fit and finish on their mandolins, as well as their excellent tone. They don’t claim to be collectibles from America’s golden instrument-manufacturing era, but they offer great sound and looks at a reasonable price. We like that. A hardshell case is included.
