A faithful, vintage-inspired recreation of one of the most legendary guitars ever made. Developed in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop as part of the Inspired by Gibson Custom line, this reissue captures the magic of the original ’59 Standard, without the six-figure price tag.
At its heart is a solid mahogany body paired with a carved maple top and an eye-catching AAA flamed maple veneer, all finished in a tasteful Vintage Gloss that adds subtle aging and depth without overdoing it. The one-piece mahogany neck features the iconic 1959 Rounded Medium C profile — chunky, but not unwieldy — and is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Tone comes courtesy of two Gibson USA Custombuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired with CTS pots, Black Beauty capacitors, and Switchcraft components for period-correct clarity and punch. It’s a setup that delivers the warm, open tones that helped define blues and rock for generations.
Vintage-correct appointments like nickel hardware, Epiphone Deluxe “Single Ring” Keystone tuners, and the classic open-book headstock round out this timeless build. Includes an Inspired by Gibson Custom brown hardshell case with pink plush interior.
