Epiphone 1963 Firebird I 2024 - Silver Mist
Epiphone 1963 Firebird I 2024 - Silver Mist
Epiphone’s 1963 Firebird I is a spot-on tribute to Gibson’s iconic Firebird I in all its vintage glory. This guitar’s 9-piece laminate mahogany/walnut neck-through construction and mahogany wings perfectly recreate the Firebird I. It’s finished off with all of the Firebird I’s historic quirks, including a stepped headstock, phoenix pickguard, and banjo-style planetary tuners from Kluson.
The Gibson USA-made Firebird pickup is clear and bright with a nice cut-through-the-mix sound. Don't mistake this pickup for a standard Gibson Mini Humbucker—it's unique all on its own! This pickup has a humbucker like depth while also delivering single-coil like sparkle. The best of both worlds.
Gibson’s original 1963 Firebird arrived with several distinct variations, from single to triple-pickup versions, some even equipped with vibratos. This Epiphone 1963 Firebird I is what Gibson originally intended to be the Firebird’s most budget-oriented model. But like the Les Paul Jr. that came before it, the Firebird I’s simple setup of an unbound neck, wraparound bridge, and solo bridge pickup has proven to be a mainstay among rockers and old-school blues guitarists. A hardshell case is included.
