The classic Sting Ray still incorporates many of the elements designed by Leo Fender in the '60s, including the single humbucking pickup, 3-band active EQ and 6-bolt neck, along with improvements such as satin-finish roasted maple necks and fingerboards. Great looks, great feel and superior tone—hard to beat.

Why We Like Music Man
Leo Fender’s first post-Fender brand, Music Man basses (now owned and manufactured by Ernie Ball) are clearly descendants of the Fender lineage. They feel just a little heftier than their Southern California cousins. Most feature active electronics and punchy, quiet, double-coil pickups for less noise and more tonal range. We also like their great-playing necks. The feel is definitely familiar—but still distinctive from other Fender-style basses.
