If you’re ready to shred, why not do it with the best! The EVH Frankenstein “Frankie” puts Eddie Van Halen’s famous weapon-of-choice in your hands—distressed in exact detail—at an affordable price.
It starts with a basswood body finished with Eddie’s well-worn red/black/white-striped paint job. The quartersawn maple neck features a comfortable modified “C” profile, hand-rubbed oiled back finish, and heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel. The 12”-16” compound-radius maple fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets.
Frankie features a single EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking bridge pickup, along with a dummy Strat single-coil in the neck position and prop 5-way blade switch in the middle. The single control is a white skirted volume knob marked “Tone” (Eddie—always a joker).
An EVH-branded top-mount Floyd Rose bridge and locking tailpiece features fine tuners for each string and a patented EVH D-Tuna for switching back and forth from drop-D to standard tuning in an instant.
