If you know, you know—this Fender ’62 Super Amp is one of those sleeper classics that sits right in the sweet spot between tweed grit and blackface sparkle.
It’s got that warm, woody clean that feels alive under your fingers, and when you lean into it, it starts to sing with this smooth, harmonically rich breakup that just feels right. Not as scooped as the later black-panel stuff—there’s a little extra midrange attitude in there that helps you cut without getting harsh.
And the tremolo? This is the good stuff. The harmonic tremolo Fender only used on a handful of amps—it’s deeper, swirlier, almost phasey compared to the choppier trem you’re used to. Super vibey.
They paired it with Celestion Custom Design speakers, so you still get that punch and focus you’d expect, just in a more manageable package than the big 4x10 rigs. Loud enough to hang, but not gonna take your head off.
Wrapped up in that brown Tolex and wheat grille… it just looks as good as it sounds.
