Just a year after introducing the Broadcaster,Fender was hit with a cease-and-desist telegram from the Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co., prompting a quick rename of its flagship electric guitar. Inspired by the surge of television in American homes, the first blackguard “Telecaster” rolled off the line in 1951—and it’s been a staple in music ever since. Now, the American Vintage II series pays homage to those iconic guitars that forever changed the sound of popular music.
The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster captures that timeless appeal with an ash body, finished in a butterscotch blonde nitro lacquer for an authentic look and tone. Its 1951 “U”-shaped hard rock maple neck is designed for comfort, featuring a 7.25" radius and vintage tall frets that make playing feel effortless. The Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster pickups deliver tight lows and balanced mids, while the bridge pickup provides that unmistakable Tele twang.
Additional features include a 3-barrel bridge with brass saddles, vintage-style tuners, and knurled dome knobs. The Vintage II 1951 Telecaster is a fitting tribute to the original and a must-have for any Tele enthusiast. Comes with a hardshell case.
