This is a pretty dang cool Tele — the Fender John Osborne Telecaster in Olympic White. It’s based on John’s own beat-up Tele that he’s been known to take onstage with the Brothers Osborne, so the whole guitar has that road-worn, working-player kind of vibe.
TheRoad Worn Olympic White nitro finish and custom pickguard give it plenty of character right out of the box, while the John Osborne pickups bring a punchy, cutting Tele tone with a nice tight low end. It’s got the simple controls you’d expect, so there’s not a whole lot to get in the way of just plugging in and playing.
Then there’s theB-bender, which is obviously the fun part. Pull down with your strap and you can get those full-step, pedal-steel-style bends. Even if you’ve never messed with one before, it’s a pretty fun rabbit hole to go down.
The1968 "C" maple neck has a vintage 7.25" radius and jumbo frets, with the Road Worn treatment giving the back of the neck a nice played-in feel. Throw in the vintage tuners, compensated brass saddles, and 7 lbs 5 oz weight, and this is a really comfortable Tele that feels more like a well-used gigging guitar than something that just came off an assembly line.
