The Doors sold millions of records with the sound of the Fender Rhodes Piano Bass (and a lot of other people used them, too). This is the way to get that unmistakeable sound, especially if you trust your left hand more than you did your last bass player. The range is low E to B below middle C—essentially the range of a 4-string electric bass.
This 1972 model includes a lid and is in very good cosmetic condition (it's a consignment piece for a local Nashville keyboard player). It has recently been professionally tuned and maintained. All the keys work, are cosmetically clean, and bounce back the way they should. The pickups have been balanced and everything under the hood is in very good condition. It comes with a little "eau de basement"—but other than general cleaning, it's ready to add to your studio or stage rig. For safety's sake, we'd certainly prefer local pickup, but we'll ship in the lower 48 for $150. It weighs approximately 55lbs with the top cover.
