The Vintera III Early ’60s Jazz Bass is a pretty fun look at the J Bass right around the time Fender really had the formula figured out. It has all the familiar Jazz Bass stuff, but the little period details make this one feel distinctly early ’60s.
The Early ’60s C-shaped maple neck has a 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard with vintage-tall frets, giving it that classic Fender feel. It’s a pretty straightforward neck that feels comfortable without trying to be overly modern.
The two vintage-style Early ’60s Jazz Bass pickups give you the familiar J Bass combination of punch and clarity, but the stacked concentric Volume and Tone controls are probably the coolest part of the setup. Each pickup gets its own volume and tone control, just like the early Jazz Basses, so you can dial in the two pickups independently and blend them together.
The Olympic White finish with the 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, clay-style dots, thumb rest, and chrome hardware gives it a great old-school look. The vintage-style reverse tuners and threaded steel saddle bridge finish off the period-correct setup.
