1956 was the only full year in which the Les Paul model featured P-90 pickups and the adjustable no-wire ABR-1 bridge setup, a combination that allowed the Les Paul model to intonate, sustain, and thrill like never before. The Gibson Custom Shop goes all out on capturing all of the authentic features that you would see on the originals, including all solid woods, vintage-accurate gold paint, narrow/tall frets, chunky "C" 50's neck profile, and hot hide glue construction. The 1956 Les Paul also features a pair of Custom P90 pickups. These pickups capture the true vintage tone of a pre-PAF Dog Ear –– roll back the volume and get perfect cleans for jazz or bring up the volume and get the gritty rock crunch that only a P90 could give you.
Bottom line: This beauty delivers all the goods. It offers tonal versatility, easy playability and classic appearance—plus the opportunity to own a true collectible. This guitar is preloved but in very good condition. There's no major dings, dents, or chips and the frets are in great shape. The original hardshell case included.
