The Gibson Victory is one of those guitars that looks like it came straight out of a different chapter of Gibson history. Originally an ’80s oddball, the Victory has always had a bit of a cult following, and this modern version keeps a lot of that personality while adding some pretty useful updates.
The pair of Gibson 80’s Tribute humbuckers give it plenty of classic Gibson punch, but the controls are where this one gets interesting. The push-pull volume splits the pickups, while the push-pull tone lets you switch between the inner and outer coils. Add the 3-way toggle and there’s a surprising amount of tonal ground available without making the guitar complicated.
The mahogany body and AA figured maple top look especially good in the Iguana Burst, while the mahogany SlimTaper neck and ebony fingerboard give it a fast, comfortable feel. The 10"-16" compound radius and 24 frets also make this one feel a little more modern than the typical Gibson setup.
At 6 lbs 10 oz, it’s an easy guitar to wear, and the 25.5" scale gives it a little more snap and tension than a standard Gibson. Grover Mini Rotomatics, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and aluminum stopbar round out the hardware.
This one is used and in very good condition, with only minimal signs of wear. There are a few small nicks on the headstock and some faint rash on the back, but nothing major. Comes with the hardshell case.
