Like the viola, the mandola has always been the less-glorified sibling of the mando family. But we like its alto voice and lower, darker tone. Our customers do, too.
The Gold Tone Mandola offers a simple, no-frills version of this often-overlooked instrument. The voicing and tone are sweet and subtle, making it a great addition to recordings and live performances (especially if you've started up that old mandolin orchestra again).
Where the mandolin sings above and chops through the mix, the mandola blends. Traditionally tuned a fifth lower than the mandolin (CGDA), the mandola offers the double-string texture but with a less-pronounced tone.
