One year after the first Surfliner models were released, Guild has gone through and gave these models some major upgrades and new features—if you were curious about these guitars before, you should definitely be now. The Surfliner Deluxe truly lives up to the "Deluxe" name.
These new appointments include a new Guild floating vibrato tailpiece, 5-way blade switch, roasted maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard, block pearloid inlays, and a matching headstock. Not only are these new features aesthetically more-pleasing, they're also practical. The 5-way blade switch allows for easier pickup switching, the floating vibrato tailpiece gives you versatility of adding subtle shimmer to cascading waves of vibrato to your playing, and the roasted maple neck not only looks good, it just feels good in your hands.
The Surfliner Deluxe is loaded with a Guild HB-2 humbucker and two DeArmond Aerosonic single coil pickups. These pickups cover everything from washed-out surf tones to hard rock grit—with ease.
