The Kilt V2 retains the same incredible circuit as the original—a heavily tweaked Expandora-style dirt box that delivers an unparalleled range of tonal options. JHS has selected a high-quality op-amp that offers super low noise, an improved slew rate for a smoother response, and a character that surpasses the original Expandora.

Three toggles provide extensive tweakability:

• Cut/Flat Toggle: Cuts low-end frequencies for a tighter mix or keeps them intact for a beefier tone—perfect for heavy guitar riffs or bass grit.
• G1 & G2 Gain Toggles: Adjusts the clipping resistance for a wide range of drive textures, from subtle breakup to thick, saturated fuzz.

Toggles & Gain Stages

• Both toggles down: Lightest gain setting, amp-like chimey breakup.
• G1 up: Adds a touch of drive for extra grit.
• G2 up: Approaches full distortion, with increased sustain for lead tones.
• Both toggles up: Engages near-uncontrollable gated fuzz/distortion that cuts through anything.
