Handbuilt in Nashville by Kelly Butler (the guy behind the First Act Custom Shop era), the ‘64 V2 takes that stripped-down, punk-inspired platform and turns it into a seriously versatile, gig-ready machine. This is the two-pickup version, giving you way more tonal range without losing that raw, mid-forward attitude these guitars are known for.
You’ve got a set of K. Butler’s custom pickups here—the TriStar Wrangler in the neck, which has a clear, almost single-coil-like character tucked into a humbucker format, and the Ultra Clarifier in the bridge, which leans PAF-style but with a little extra push. It’ll clean up better than you expect, but it absolutely rips when you lean into it.
The all-mahogany build keeps things resonant and punchy, with a solid, broken-in feel right out of the gate. It’s got that no-frills, player-first vibe—nothing flashy, just a really well-built guitar that wants to be played loud.
Finished in Super Red, it’s got just the right amount of attitude to match what it does sonically.
