Here’s a really special one for the Martin fans— a 2025 Martin Custom Shop D-18 built around a bunch of those classic prewar D-18 specs, with a few modern touches to keep it comfortable to play.
The big thing here is theAdirondack spruce top, paired with mahogany back and sides and Golden Era scalloped X-bracing. Adirondack was used on early D-18s and is known for its punch, projection, and headroom, so this one has plenty of that big, open dreadnought sound you’d expect, with a warm mahogany character and a nice clear top end.
TheGE Modified Low Oval mahogany neck gives it a vintage-inspired feel without going full baseball bat, and the 1.75" bone nut and 16" ebony fingerboard keep things feeling comfortable and familiar. The Style 18 appointments are kept nice and understated, with simple dot inlays and vintage-style open-back tuners.
This is basically a D-18 for someone who really digs the golden-era Martin sound but still wants something comfortable and easy to live with. It’s got the old-school ingredients where they matter, and the Custom Shop treatment makes it a pretty killer version of the classic.
