Radial Stagebug SB-4 Active DI

The Radial StageBug SB-4 is a compact active direct box specifically designed for piezo transducers. It enhances the sound of violins, dobros, mandolins, cellos, upright basses, and other piezo-equipped instruments without compromising tone or frequency response.

Unlike most direct boxes, the SB-4 features a very high 5-megohm input impedance, smoothing out troublesome peaks often found in piezo pickups. This higher impedance broadens frequency response for a more natural, pleasing sound.

Active circuitry converts high to low impedance and balances the signal, allowing cable runs of up to 300 feet without loss or distortion. A high-pass filter and 180° polarity reverse switch further help eliminate low-end rumble and feedback.

Connections include:

• An AUX output for on-stage amplification
• A standard XLR output to feed the PA system

The SB-4 is powered by the console's 48V phantom power, eliminating the need for batteries or external power supplies.
