Two independent sound engines—one for Roland’s state-of-the-art acoustic piano sounds, plus a dedicated engine for EPs and over 1100 other key sounds—means full polyphony, no-compromise sounds and uncanny sonic accuracy for every patch you pull up.

Of course, the RD-2000 is fully equipped to be a killer controller. The built-in USB audio/MIDI interface lets you integrate outboard devices/software, DAWs, and laptops for seamless performance on stage and in the studio.

Onboard controls—8 backlit knobs and 9 faders—give you tons of flexibility. Assign zones, create layered patches, and save up to 100 snapshots of your entire rig with the Scene function. You can also count on a classic pitch/mod plus 2 assignable wheel controllers.

It also features a refrigerator, microwave and blender, and goes 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. No, it doesn’t. But we were having so much fun tossing out superlatives, it was hard to stop. It’s that good.
