Up for grabs is a 1987 Takamine EF25S 25th Anniversary model, and yeah, this is definitely more of a player’s piece than a collector’s case queen. It’s been played, probably gigged, and it shows that kind of honest wear you only get from years of use.
You’ve got a solid Sitka spruce top with nato back and sides, so it still brings that classic, balanced acoustic tone with a nice clear top end. Plugged in, it’s running Takamine’s palathetic pickup with the TK-4 preamp and 3-band EQ, so it’s super usable for live stuff or recording. These older Tak systems are kind of a sweet spot if you know, you know.
Visually, this is where all the vibe is. The gloss white finish has started to age into more of a creamy, yellowed look, which honestly suits it. It’s got gold hardware, gold soundhole rings, and that gold Takamine logo that pops really nicely against the finish.
Condition is good for its age, but just being real, it’s a player. There are plenty of dings, scratches, and general playwear. Some light rash on the back as well. Nothing structural or affecting playability at all, just cosmetic stuff from being used the way a guitar should be. It sounds great and plays exactly how you’d want it to.
