The BB435 is a great way to get into Yamaha’s classic BB bass design without getting into a complicated active setup. It’s a straightforward passive 5-string with plenty of punch, a solid low B, and the kind of familiar feel that makes these basses easy to settle into.
The Yamaha VSP5n Alnico V split-coil and VSC5b Alnico V single-coil give you a really useful mix of punch and clarity, with individual volume controls and a master tone keeping everything simple. No onboard EQ to fuss with, just plug in and go.
The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck has Yamaha’s thinner BB profile and a rosewood fingerboard, while the 6-bolt neck joint adds some extra stability and sustain. The lightweight tuners help keep the bass balanced, and the Vintage Plus bridge gives you a solid, practical foundation.
