If you haven’t played one of these yet, the Yamaha TAG3 C TransAcoustic Guitar is one of those guitars that makes you stop and go “wait… how is it doing that?” No amp, no pedals, nothing plugged in and you’ve got reverb, chorus, delay, even a looper all coming straight out of the guitar. And it actually sounds good. Not gimmicky, not over the top, just really usable, room-filling effects that make you want to keep playing.
Under the hood, it’s a legit all-solid acoustic.Solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, so you’re getting that warm, punchy low end with clear highs and plenty of volume from the dreadnought body. The cutaway makes getting up the neck easy, and the mahogany neck with ebony board feels super smooth and comfortable.
The TransAcoustic system is simple to use,with clean, straightforward controls, a built-in tap sensor, and Bluetooth if you want to dig a little deeper. The onboard looper is a killer bonus and makes this thing ridiculously fun to just pick up and play anywhere.
And when it’s time to plug in, the System76 electronics have you covered for stage use.
It’s one of those guitars you grab for a few minutes and end up playing way longer than you planned.
